'Jononetrir Joijatra': Book on Sheikh Hasina unveiled
The first part of “Jononetrir Joijatra”, a three-part compilation of print media reports on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was unveiled yesterday.
The book launching ceremony was held at Kabi Sufia Kamal auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in Dhaka.
The first instalment of the series -- being published by Pathak Samabesh -- includes media reports from 1982 to 1990. Following parts will include reports between 1991-2006 and 2007-2016 respectively.
Speaking at the programme, Prime Minister's Energy Adviser Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury said that the book will be an important tool for researchers and historians.
Terming the book "resourceful", former DU Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique said it will be a great source of information for future researchers.
Noted columnist Syed Abul Maksud said people will need this book to learn more about the socio-economic and cultural status of Bangladesh.
The other two parts of the series will be published at Ekushey Boi Mela in February 2019.
