Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) will start a 13-day special steamer service from Dhaka-end on August 8 ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The service with five additional vessels will continue till August 20, said Syed Abul Kalam Azad, assistant general manager of BIWTC in Barishal. The steamers will carry passengers to Chandpur, Barishal, Jhalakathi, Hularhut of Pirojpur and Morelganj of Bagerhat.
MV Modhumati and PS Turn will leave Dhaka at 6:30pm and 7pm on August 8; PS Turn will start on August 8, 12, and 16 from Dhaka, and on August 9 from Morelganj, and on August 14 and 18 from Barishal River Port. MV Madhumoti will start from Dhaka on August 8, 11, 15 and Barishal River Port on August 10, 13, 17; MV Bangalee will start from Dhaka on August 9, 14, and 18 and leave from Barishal River Port on August 11, 16 and 20; PS Lepcha will leave Dhaka on August 10 and 17; and PS Mahsud will start from Dhaka on August 10, 13 and 17 and from Barishal port on August 12, 15 and 17.
