Bid to rape 7-yr-old
The mother of seven-year-old girl, who narrowly escaped a rape attempt allegedly by one of her neighbours on Friday, failed a case with Kulaura Police Station on Monday night, three days after the incident.
Victim’s mother, a tea worker, said she went to her workplace on Friday keeping her minor daughter alone at home.
Taking advantage of the situation, one of her neighbour Khokon Rajbhor, 32, son of Prema Rajbhor, lured the girl with Tk 10, took her inside the house and tried to rape her, she said, adding that hearing cry for help, villagers rushed to the spot and rescued the girl but the culprit fled the scene, leaving the girl traumatised.
Later, some local influential people and village elders told her not to disclose the matter to anyone else and assured her that they would solve the matter through an arbitration, she said.
However, due to a delay in arranging the arbitration, she filed the case with the police station accusing Khokon on Monday night, she added.
