BCL activist stabbed to death

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was stabbed to death allegedly by rivals in Boran Munshi Para area in Tongi on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Prince Mahmud Nahid, 26, son of Jahirul Islam, a resident of Datta Para area in Tongi.

Quoting witnesses, Shuvo Mandal, sub-inspector of Tongi East Police Station, said following previous enmity over a cricket match, some rivals swooped on Nahid around 8:30pm and stabbed him, leaving him critically injured.

Nahid died on the way to Dhaka, added the sub-inspector.
