Bangladesh a role model for communal harmony: Chief Justice
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain today observed that Bangladesh is a role model for communal harmony.
The chief justice made the remark while speaking to a function organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) to celebrate Saraswati Puja at its auditorium on the Supreme Court premises in Dhaka.
“Every year, the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) organises a programme to celebrate Saraswati Puja where all the judges of the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court are invited and they attend the function. It proves that Bangladesh is a role model for communal harmony,” he said.
Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain also said the president and secretary of the SCBA extend their full support to organise the Saraswati Puja successfully every year.
“I hope they will continue to give their support in organising Saraswati Puja in the years to come,” he said.
Many judges of the High Court Division, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, Bangladesh Bar Council’s Vice Chairman Advocate Muhammad Yusuf Hossain Humayun, SCBA President Advocate AM Amin Uddin, Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru MP, former SCBA president Advocate Zainul Abedin and SCBA Secretary Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, among others, attended the occasion.
