Stamford University Bangladesh's architecture department yesterday organised an event titled "Ancient Religious Structures of Dhaka City: Conservation and its Adaptability" at the department premises.
Some 200 students from different institutions, architects, archaeologists and professionals participated in the event, said a press release.
The event had two parts -- an exhibition on ancient religious structures of Dhaka city and a seminar.
The exhibition displayed photos of 36 religious structures of the sultanate, Mughal and colonial eras.
This was done by 20 students of the department.
At the seminar, keynote speaker Prof Abu Sayeed M Ahmed, president (elect) of Architects Regional Council Asia, delivered a lecture on "Complexities and Challenges: Conservation Practices in Bangladesh".
