Allegations of negligence, misbehaviour being probed
Sylhet District Administration is probing two allegations of negligence and misbehaviour with SSC examinees by teachers of Kishori Mohan Girls' High School during Saturday's mathematics examination.
A magistrate, assigned in this regard, will file a report by this week, said Kazi Emdadul Haque, deputy commissioner of Sylhet, yesterday.
On Saturday, examinees and their guardians, after the exam at the centre, alleged that duty teachers handed out question papers 15 minutes later and also misbehaved with the students.
The examinees in two rooms were given old question papers. Though the mistake was rectified, the examinees were not given any extra time for the delay.
They also alleged that the teachers forced the girls to remove their headscarves and the boys their ties during the exam.
Examinees of Scholarshome's Shahi Eidgah branch and Osmani Medical High School sat for the exam at the centre.
After the exam, students and guardians demonstrated in front of the Kishori Mohan school's headteacher's office.
A human chain was also formed in front of Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar on Sunday in protest.
The deputy commissioner of Sylhet said, “We have received two complaints in this regard. We're investigating the incident and actions will be taken accordingly.”
The headteacher or any other teacher of Kishori Mohan school did not want to comment over the issue.
