Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday filed a case against a listed drug lord of Cox’s Bazar, on charges of amassing wealth from unknown sources.
Deputy Assistant Director Sharif Uddin of ACC Chattogram (district-2) filed the case against Haji Saiful Karim of Teknaf with Double Mooring Police Station, said Assistant Commissioner Ashikur Rahman of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.
Saiful was sued under the Anti-Corruption Act and Money Laundering Act, for amassing over Tk 1.65 crore through undisclosed sources, Ashikur said.
According to the narcotics control department and CMP officials, Saiful is one of the top drug lords in Cox’s Bazar and listed as one of the yaba godfathers.
