8yr old's journey to Baishakhi fair ends in death

On his way to celebrate Pahela Baishakh at a local fair, an eight-year old faced a tragic end minutes after he started from his home in Chattogram yesterday.

Jisan Uddin Raihan, son of Jashim Uddin and a student of Kalamia Government Primary School, was riding pillion with his classmate on a bicycle in Chandgaon area, said police.

As soon as they reached C&B turning point, a minibus hit the bike, said Abul Basher, officer-in-charge of Chandgaon Police Station.

Jisan fell off the bicycle, and was injured. He was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

His friend, whose identity could not be known immediately, escaped the accident, said the OC.
