8 Bangladeshis in Street Child Cricket WC
The first Street Child Cricket World Cup Tournament, organised by Street Child United, will take place ahead of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales. British Council Bangladesh and Local Education and Economic Development Organization (LEEDO) organised its launch event at British Council Bangladesh head office in Fuller Read yesterday.
Four girls and four boys between the ages of 14 and 17 were chosen from Bangladesh to participate in the tournament, scheduled for May 2019. The event was attended by Kanbar Hossein-Bor, British Deputy High Commissioner to Bangladesh. Sebastian Pearce, Director Examinations, British Council Bangladesh; Mike Sheriff, Chair of Friends of Street Children; and Forhad Hossain, Executive Director of LEEDO were also present.
An exhibition on street children of Dhaka was also held on the occasion.
