7th death anniversary of Kamal Khan observed
The 7th death anniversary of Advocate Al-Haj Kamaluddin Ahmed Khan, known as Kamal Khan, a former member of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association, was observed yesterday, says a press release.
He was awarded “The Governor of Bengal Medal” in 1942 for his service in Assam during World War 2. He also founded Patharghata Girl’s High School, the first such school in the area.
A philanthropist by heart, Kamal was responsible for organising the Eid congregational prayers and for setting up a graveyard in the city.
Kamal was born in Chattogram city on February 19, 1927. He passed his BA from Chittagong College in 1947 and obtained an LLB Degree in 1962 from Chittagong Law College.
On the occasion, relatives, friends and well-wishers were requested to pray for the salvation of his departed soul.
