75yr old arrested for raping minor

An elderly man was arrested yesterday for raping a nine-year-old. The arrestee is Shamsu Mallik, 75, from Rupsha upazila in Khulna.   

Investigation officer Harunur Rashid, sub-inspector of Rupsha Police Station, said Shamsu raped the minor on June 1 and threatened her not to disclose the incident. 

“Yesterday Shamsu again tried to force himself on the girl,” said the IO. Hearing her screams, locals rushed in and held Shamsu.

After a case was filed by the victim’s mother, police arrested Shamsu. He was sent to jail.
