4 killed in road accidents
At least four persons were killed in separate road accidents in last the two days.
In Dinajpur, a motorcyclist was killed and another injured in a road accident in Parbatipur upazila yesterday, reports our correspondent.
The deceased was identified as Md Likhan, 35, of Singergari village under Kishorganj upazila of Nilphamari district, said Moklesur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Parbatipur Police Station.
The accident took place when Likhan's motorbike was hit by a truck in front of Parbatipur locomotive factory on Parbatipur-Barapukuria road around 12:30pm, the OC said.
Suman, passenger of the bike, was injured in the incident and taken to Parbatipur upazila Health Complex.
In another incident in Chattogram, a man was killed after a microbus ran him over in Karnaphuli upazila on Thursday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Prodip Kumar Dutta, 52, from Patiya upazila, said Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukder of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Camp.
The accident took place around 9:30pm when a microbus ran over Prodip while he was crossing a road, leaving him critically injured.
Prodip was rushed to CMCH where he was declared dead on arrival, the ASI added.
Meanwhile in Bogura, two on a motorcycle were killed as their vehicle hit a tree beside Talora-Jamdar road in Kalipara village under Kahalu upazila on Thursday, UNB reports.
The deceased were identified as Suja Uddin Khan, 36, former chairman of Durgapur Union Parishad and Lebu Khan, 55, said Sawkat Kabir, officer-in-charge of Kahalu Police Station.
The accident took place around 7pm, when Suja's motorcycle carrying three persons crashed into a roadside tree, leaving two dead on the spot.
No further details were known immediately.
