4 'JMB operatives' sent to jail
A court in Jamalpur yesterday sent four Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) members, arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Mymensingh on Wednesday, to jail.
The arrestees -- college student Siam Al Mahmud, 19, Nasreen Akter alias Joaira, 21, Md Shaheen Islam alias Mahbub Islam, 22, and Md Shakhawat Karim, 36 -- were produced before the Jamalpur Sadar Court with a seven-day remand prayer, said Taposh Chandra Pandit, officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police in Jamalpur.
The court sent them to jail after no hearing on the remand prayer was held, he added.
The four met through Facebook and were planning to travel to another country for training, Rab-14 Commanding Officer Lt Col Md Aftekher Uddin said at a press briefing on Thursday.
