4 fined for violating home quarantine
Mobile courts in three districts fined four people for violating home quarantine directions during the last two days, report our correspondents.
In Tangail, a mobile court fined two expatriates in Manikganj's Shivalaya.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) AFM Firoz Mahmud, also executive magistrate of the court, fined them after conducting drives.
One was fined Tk 10,000 yesterday and the other Tk 3,000 on Sunday.
The two expatriate from India were fined for moving about in their locality, the UNO said.
In Tangail, a mobile court yesterday fined a man, who recently returned from Japan, Tk 20,000 in Sakhipur upazila.
UNO Asmaul Husna Liza, also executive magistrate of the court, passed the order at noon.
The man returned to Bangladesh a couple of weeks ago and was freely moving about. He along with his family were on their way to visit his father-in-law's house in the morning.
On information, the court stopped him at Jail Intersection of the municipal area and fined him on the spot.
The magistrate said the returnee was directed to maintain home quarantine rules.
In Bandarban municipal area, a mobile court yesterday fined an expatriate Tk 10,000.
The person came back from Dubai along with his family recently. He was fined for not following government instructions, said UNO Habibul Hassan of Bandarban Sadar upazila.
