3 ideas awarded at Media Tech Bootcamp

The winners of a three-day media tech bootcamp at Rajshahi University (RU) were announced yesterday.

Organised jointly by RU and Deutsche Welle Akademie, students of Mass Communication and Journalism and Computer Science and Engineering, along with journalists from Radio Today, Channel i and The Daily Star participated in the bootcamp.

Six teams participated in the competition and presented prototypes of their projects. Three teams were announced winners by the jury board.

The winning teams are “Spring to Summer”, “Team Step-One” and “Fake Busters”. “Spring to Summer” came up with an idea to fight environmental pollution through an app. The other teams presented ideas to verify fake news over the internet.

Winning teams were awarded Tk 2 lakh each to develop their ideas.

The bootcamp started on Friday aiming to give participants a hands-on experience in coming up with innovative solutions to new media.
