3 Ctg restaurants fined for selling adulterated food

A mobile court fined three unauthorised restaurants Tk 33,000 in Chattogram city yesterday on the charge of not maintaining hygiene.

In Notun Bridge area under Bakalia Police Station, the court fined Fatema Hotel Tk 15,000, Madina Hotel Tk 10,000, and Bismillah Hotel Tk 8,000 for storing and selling adulterated food items in an unhygienic condition.

Besides, the eatery owners have no trade licence to run the business, said Md Ali Hasan, executive magistrate of the district administration.

The drive will continue to prevent such offence, he added.
