23 Europe returnees sent to institutional quarantine
A total of 23 passengers, who returned to Bangladesh from different European countries including the UK, were put under 14-day institutional quarantine at different government approved hotels in eight hours since early yesterday.
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh's (CAAB) strict measures came into effect from 12:01am yesterday, after reviewing the deteriorating Covid-19 situation throughout the country and world.
The measures will continue until further notice, officials said.
Of the 23 returnees, seven returned from different European countries while 16 from the UK, Dr Shahriar Sazzad, in-charge at the Health Desk of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, told The Daily Star.
