According to campus sources, there was tension between BCL leaders of Sheikh Russel and Zia dormitories of HSTU for the last couple of days over establishing supremacy. On Monday, the clash erupted at the campus at around 8:30pm, which continued for an hour. Later, resident teachers of the university brought the situation under control.
Police tried to get to the campus but failed, as they could not get permission from the HSTU authorities immediately.
The injured were taken to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital in Dinajpur around 10pm. Fazlul Haque, registrar of HSTU, visited the injured students.
A tense environment prevailed in the campus yesterday.

The committee was asked to submit its report within a week.
On the other hand,a number of students, mostly BCL activists, yesterday confined the registrar in his room for an hour demanding that he publishes a recruitment circular for teachers and employees.
They locked the registrar in his room around 12pm, which was later opened after the registrar managed to convince the students.
The registrar, however, denied to provide names of the students.
