Netrakona war crimes accused dies at DMCH
War crimes accused Ahmmad Ali of Netrakona died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital yesterday.
Ali, 72, of Pubadhala upazila was admitted to DMCH around 9:00pm Wednesday after he felt sick at Dhaka Central Jail and he died around 12:30am yesterday, said DMCH and prison sources.
He was arrested on August 13 along with another accused, Abdur Rahman, hours after the International Crimes Tribunal-1 issued warrants for seven, including the duo, for their alleged involvement in crimes committed during the Liberation War.
According to the investigation agency, Ali was involved with anti-liberation Muslim League in 1971 and later joined Razakar Bahini. A total of five war crimes accused died in hospitals due to old age complications while they were in jail in connection with war crimes cases.
