Nephew killed woman found dead with slit-throat in Bangshal: DB
A woman, whose body was recovered by police with her throat slit on last November 5 from a residence in Suritola of Bangshal, was killed by own nephew.
Arrestee Masud Rana killed Urmi Akther, 27, with a knife as she refused to give him her jewellery which he demanded for her wife to join a party, disclosed Abdul Baten, joint commissioner of Police’s Detective Branch (DB) at a press briefing in the capital yesterday after the arrest.
Bangshal police initially arrested victim’s husband Ajgar Ali, 35, and his nephew Rony, 19, getting a complaint from victim’s father Khokon Miah that they killed Urmi over family conflict.
Baten said they detected Masud as he made away with Urmi’s phone.
