Man shot dead in Badda clash
A person was shot dead and eight others sustained bullet injuries in a clash in Badda area of Dhaka this evening.
The deceased was identified as Kamruzzaman Dukhu, 35, brother of Jahangir Alam, chairman of Beraid Union Parishad, said Kazi Wazed Ali, officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station.
Two groups -- one loyal to Jahangir while another to local Awami League lawmaker AKM Rahmatullah – clashed with firearms around 6:30 pm over establishing supremacy in Beraid area, sources said.
Dukhu was shot dead on the spot and eight others recieved bullets during the clash, OC Kazi Wazed Ali told The Daily Star.
The injured were taken to Apollo Hospitals, he added.
