Police arrested a man along with three kilogrammes of gold at Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka this morning.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team challenged Zoynal Abedin, 38, when he got down from the Turna Nishitha Express coming from Chittagong, and recovered 25 gold bars hidden inside the soles of his shoes around 7:30am, said Abdul Mazid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhaka Railway Police Station.
The current market value of the recovered gold is Tk 1.25 crore, the OC told The Daily Star.
