Man gets death, mother life term for Ctg murder

A Chittagong court sentenced a man to death and his mother life term imprisonment for killing a banker over land dispute in 2005.

The court also fined Humayun Kabir and his mother Shamsun Nahar of East Chandanaish Tk 50,000 each in default to serve six more months, court sources said.

On June 10, 2005, the duo hit the then Rupali Bank Agrabad Branch's official Md Manir Ahmed Chowdhury with a spade and a stick and he died 19 days later, according to the prosecution.
