Man dies 'falling' from high rise

A man died after "falling" from the ninth floor of a 13-storey building in the capital's Dhanmondi area yesterday, said police.

Shahriar Sulav, 37, of Lalmatia, who was an official of Kazi Farms Group, went to a café in the building around 3:30pm, they said.

After taking food, he went to the balcony on the ninth floor alone, restaurant sources said, adding, there are railings surrounding the balcony.

A CCTV footage, which only covers a portion of the balcony, shows Shahriar walking alone in the balcony, said Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Latif.
