Man arrested on charge of raping 7-yr-old

Police yesterday arrested a man on the charge of raping a seven-year-old girl in Amin Bazar area of Chittagong.

The arrestee, Anwar Hossen Farazi, 35, used to work as a security guard in the area, said Sub-inspector Jahangir Al Aman of Hathazari Model Police Station.

The girl's father filed a case on Monday accusing Anwar of raping his daughter, he said. According to the case statement, Anwar has been sexually abusing his daughter since March 2017. Often times, he used to pressurise the child and sometimes allure her with candy.

The father filed the case after his daughter informed him of the past incidents as Anwar attempted to abuse her again. Anwar was produced before a court yesterday, which sent him to jail, said the SI.
