JU suspends two students, while BCL two activists

The Jahangirnagar University authorities on Thursday night suspended two students on the charge of doing drugs on the campus.

The decision came from an emergency syndicate meeting following an emergency disciplinary board meeting, confirmed Registrar Abu Bakr Siddique.

They also sued Mainuddin Joni, a master's student of Bangla; and Sazzad Hossain Sayem, a fourth year student of computer science and engineering, and handed them over to Ashulia police, he said.

A four-member JU committee formed to probe into the incident was asked to submit a report in two weeks.

Meanwhile, JU unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League yesterday suspended one of its leaders and activists for their alleged unethical activities, said a press release.

Khan Mohammad Rois, deputy relief secretary of the unit; and Md Rasel, activist, however, denied the allegation.
