JU cancels contracts of 4 eateries, fines 2 others

The Jahangirnagar University (JU) hall authorities cancelled contracts of four eateries and fined two others on different charges including not maintaining hygiene and having rotten food, and not displaying food piece list.

Resident teachers of three halls conducted a drive in Battala area, where most students take food, on Tuesday night and cancel the ownership of local Hazi Biriany, and Salam and Harun's food stalls under Moulana Bhasani Hall, and Monwara Begum (Khala) under AFM Kamal Uddin Hall, while fined its two eatery owners. 

Associate Professor Kamrul Hasan, convenor of the 10-mmber committee formed to probe the matter, said they decided to fix a price list.
