Jamaat calls hartal for Monday

Within half an hour of hanging of its leader Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed for war crimes, Jamaat-e-Islami announced two day’s programme including enforcing a daylong hartal (shutdown) across the country for Monday, protesting “the killing”.
The party will hold “gayebana janaja” and doa mahfil on Sunday, Jamaat acting ameer Moqbul Ahmad said in a press release.
Mojaheed did neither file mercy petition to the president nor apologise admitting his crime, the statement reads.
BNP is however yet to come up with any reaction or announce any programme till filing this report around 2:00am.
