Inu urges media not to instigate terrorism
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday urged the mass media to refrain from publishing content that might directly or indirectly instigate terrorism.
“You have to be pro-liberation. Make sure you do not support terrorism while you enjoy and exercise your rights,” he said as the chief guest at a national convention of Bangladesh Manabadhikar Bastabayan Sangstha (BMBS) at a Dhaka hotel.
The event was organised marking the 38th anniversary of BMBS.
Inu also said, “Do not publish anything that you cannot say in front of your own children,” he said.
He added that criminal activities like killings, abductions and rapes were deviations from democracy. “These deviations occur in all countries. But the mass media should work to uphold law and order, ethics and sovereignty.”
