Illegal drinking water plant sealed in port city

In separate drives, two mobile courts of the Chittagong district administration fined four factories and three shops Tk 94,000 and sealed off a factory for various irregularities in Chittagong city yesterday.

In Chaktai area, Dui Aam Marka Semai was fined Tk 30,000, M Hossain Traders Tk 30,000 and Taher Flour Tk 10,000 for producing vermicelli in unhygienic environments.

Fairuj Flour Factory was fined Tk 15,000 for not pasting expiry date labels on packets.

In Agrabad Bepari Para, an illegal mineral water factory, Grile, was sealed off and a meat shop was fined Tk 5,000 for cheating in weight. Meanwhile, two grocery shops were fined Tk 2,000 each for not hanging price lists.
