HC questions legality of tuition fees at pvt schools
The High Court yesterday questioned the legality of collecting monthly tuition fees by private schools from stipend-recipients.
The court issued a rule upon the authorities concerned to explain in two weeks as to why they should not be directed to take appropriate legal action against the schools taking monthly tuition fees from such students.
The education secretary, director general of the Department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, chairman of Dhaka education board, district education officer of Dhaka and thana education officers concerned have been made respondents to the rule. The HC passed the rule on a suomoto (of its own) move following an August 3 report of the daily Ittefaq.
