Freedom fighter, girl murdered in Gazipur

A freedom fighter and a girl were killed in separate incidents in Tongi and Sreepur upazilas yesterday.

In Tongi, a freedom fighter was beaten to death allegedly by his daughter in Marishpara area in the morning.

The deceased is Fazlul Haque, 70, of the area.

Sub-inspector of Tongi Police Station Abul Khayer said Fazlul' s daughter Farzana Yasmin Munni, 37, kicked him at one stage of altercation over family affairs, leaving him  seriously injured.

Fazlul succumbed to his injuries on the way to a hospital.

Meanwhile, in Sreepur, some assailants killed a girl by slitting her throat in Chakpara area in the early morning.

The deceased is Naznin, 7, daughter of Hasmat Ali Hashu of the area.

Miscreants entered Hasmat's house and killed his daughter following previous enmity, said Aminur Rahman, sub-inspector of Sreepur Police Station.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Shahid Tajuddin Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
