Four more witnesses testify

A Sylhet court recorded testimonies of four witnesses yesterday in the 13-year-old Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon murder case.

The witnesses are Rajon's neighbour Istiak Ahmed Raihan, Nizam Uddin, residents of adjacent Anantapur and Sekhpara villages Abduj Jahir and Pongki Miah. A total of 10 witnesses, including Rajon's parents and the complainant, out of 38 have given depositions in three days.

Ten of the 13 accused were produced before the court yesterday while charge-sheeted accused Shamim Alam and Pavel Islam are absconding and Kamrul Islam is detained in Saudi Arabia.

On July 8, a group of brutes bludgeoned Rajon to death in  Sylhet Sadar upazila allegedly for his crime of stealing a rickshaw-van. One of the culprits even filmed the horrendous scene to share it on Facebook.
