Smokes; no clue of ‘fire’ found at airport
Fire fighters have been frantically searching to trace the origin of the smokes that engulfed Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, but to no avail.
Firefighters are working on to find the cause of the smoke, said Kamrul Hassan, duty officer at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, around 8:00pm.
Two hours ago, from the last report, fire service was alerted of the heavy smokes at Terminal-1 on the second floor, around 6:00pm. Seven firefighting units were dispatched.
According to what Nur-e-Azam Miah, officer-in-charge of Airport Police Station, told The Daily Star, the fire alarm halted the activities of immigration department for some time.
Last reported, sources said activities of the immigration department resumed partially.
