Extremism may rise in country with no democracy
Extremism may rise in the country in the absence of democracy and rule of law, said BNP yesterday.
BNP Spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon was speaking at a doa mahfil organised at the BNP's central office in the capital for Faisal Arefin Dipan, publisher and owner of Jagriti and a vice president of Zia Memorial Library.
Ripon, also an international affairs secretary of BNP, called upon the government to work with all political parties to tackle the present crisis.
In another programme at Jatiya Press Club, BNP Vice Chairman Abdulla Al Noman said family members of Dipon and Avijit do not want justice as they do not have confidence in the government.
Addressing the discussion on "National Revolution and Solidarity Day", former vice-chancellor of Dhaka University and pro-BNP intellectual Prof Emajuddin Ahmed said people are passing their days in fear of violence.
