DYD, British Council to work for youths
To build social leadership skills among young people and promote youth volunteerism in Bangladesh, the Department of Youth Development (DYD) and British Council yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Under the MoU, they will work together to facilitate training.
After being trained up, the youths will carry out social action projects on various social themes.
After successful completion of the training and projects, they will be awarded certificates.
AN Ahammad Ali, director general (additional charge) of the DYD, said through this partnership DYD will reach out to around 2,000 young people across 64 districts.
Barbara Wickham, director of British Council Bangladesh, said, “Through this collaboration we look forward to work with future leaders.”
Ashadul Islam, secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, stressed youths' participation in local, national and international platforms is crucial to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs).
