DU student dies falling from building

A Dhaka University (DU) student died as he fell from a under construction building near Beribadh (embankment) area of Hazaribagh in the capital yesterday afternoon.

The deceased is Torun Hossain, a third-year student of finance department, and also a resident of Sir AF Rahman Hall.

After hearing a sound, locals rushed to the spot and discovered critically injured Torun, said OC Ikram Ali Mia of Hazaribagh Police Station, quoting locals.

Torun died on the way to a nearby medical centre, he added. The body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue for an autopsy. The OC said reason behind the death could not be known immediately.

Torun's roommates said he had left the hall after lunch at noon.
