Dhaka University closes Nilkhet, Udayan School entry points
Dhaka University authorities have limited public and transport movement on the campus to prevent spread of coronavirus.
They close two entry-exit points at Nilkhet and Udayan High School so that no vehicle can enter the campus.
"We have restricted two entry-exit points first and will block all points gradually. We are not saying it is a lockdown," said Prof Akhtaruzzaman, vice-chancellor of the university.
"We have encouraged all teachers, staffers of the university to stay home as part of fighting the spread of the virus," he told The Daily Star.
The authorities are considering shutting entry-exit points at Shaheed Minar, Shahbagh and Doyel Chattar area which are still open.
Students of the university have already vacated halls after the university authorities asked them leave their dormitories by 6pm on March 20.
