Dhaka records 14mm rainfall in nor’wester  season of Bangladesh

As the first of the season’s nor’wester lashes the country with gusty winds, rain and hailstorm, rains came down heavily in Dhaka this morning.  

A total of 14 millimetre rainfall was recorded in the capital till 9:00am today, according to the website of Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

River ports across the country have been asked to hoist cautionary signal No. One, according to the inland river port warning valid till 6:00pm today, the website said.

According to the weather forecast of the Bangladesh Met office, rain and thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty, squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur division with hails at isolated places over the country.

Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country. In the next 72hours, rain and thunder shower activity may decrease, the Met office said.
