CU suspends 2 BCL men

The Chittagong University authorities yesterday suspended two Bangladesh Chhatra League activists over a recent clash between two BCL factions on the campus.

They are Mizanur Rahman Khan of management studies and Mofazzal Haydar Hossain of the fine arts institute.

The decision came at an emergency syndicate meeting, confirmed CU Proctor Ali Asgar Chowdhury.

On Monday, two BCL factions clashed over standing in the front row to greet admission seekers on the campus, injuring some 50 people, including seven cops.

Following the clash, the BCL central committee summoned the CU BCL president and secretary to Dhaka, BCL sources said.
