CU student detained for 'Tahrir link'
The Chittagong University authorities handed one of its students over to police yesterday for his alleged involvement with Hizb-ut Tahrir.
Earlier in the day, several activists of a student organisation beat the student of philosophy and handed him over to the authorities, said an assistant proctor.
Documents related to the banned outfit were found in his cellphone, the official said.
The student was seen pasting the group's posters earlier in a CU shuttle train, he quoted several students as saying. Police said the detainee will be interrogated.
