Ctg woman sues brother for killing husband

The wife of slain goldsmith filed a case early yesterday against her 22-year-old brother who turned up at Kotwali Police Station in Chittagong city to admit that he had killed his brother-in-law on Sunday.

Priyanka Dhar, 27, wife of Anjan Dhar, who was detained and freed after she filed the case as police apparently did not find her involvement.

According to the case statement, Bablu Dhar, 22, stabbed Anjan to death as he was angry because Anjan used to have frequent quarrels with Priyanka.

Bablu gave his confessional statement before a Chittagong court yesterday.

Police quoted Priyanka as saying that around 2:00pm Sunday, Bablu informed her that his brother-in-law went to Manikchari and asked Priyanka to go to her father's house. Accordingly, Priyanka went to her father's house with her two children and spent the night there, police said. Police recovered the body packed in a sack from the couple's house at Afim Goli in Teribazar area on Monday.
