Ctg man sentenced to jail in narcotics case
A Chittagong court yesterday sentenced a man to seven years' imprisonment in a narcotics case.
Fifth Additional District and Sessions Judge Nure Alam passed the order, said court sources.
Convict Shah Alam of Gohira in Chittagong's Anwara upazila is now on the run.
The court also fined him Tk 20,000, in default of which he will have to stay one year more in jail.
On December 7, 2006, a team of the narcotics control department raided his Gohira house and recovered a good number of bottles containing contraband foreign liquor and beer.
The case was filed with Anwara Police Station the same day.
