Crude bomb blasted in Khulna jail

Unidentified miscreants blasted a crude bomb inside Khulna District Jail premises last night.

The incident happened around 8:00pm near the jail hospital area, said police.

Police recovered parts of duct tape from the spot, Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Khulna Sadar Police Station, told The Daily Star over the phone.

The bomb was hurled to create panic, suspected the OC.

He, however, could not tell whether the crude bomb was hurled from outside.

An investigation is underway, he said.
