CPB congress today
The 11th congress of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) will begin today in the capital's Suhrawardy Udyan to form its central committee and control commission for the next four years.
The inaugural session of the four-day congress will start around 2:00pm at the Uddyan. Leaders of left-leaning parties from 10 different countries including India, USA, UK, China, Russia, North Korea and Nepal will participate in the congress, said a press release.
A total of 683 district-level representatives including females and ethnic minorities will join the congress. A seminar will be held at Jatiya Press Club on the second day, while the other programmes will be organised at Mohanagar Nattamancha.
CPB holds its congress and elect leaders after every four years as per its charter.
