Arrest warrant issued against Khaleda
A Comilla court yesterday issued an arrest warrant against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and 48 others in a case filed over hurling petrol bomb on a bus on the Dhaka- Chittagong highway.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Comilla, Jainab Begum, passed the order in presence of 20 other accused.
Court sources said, Khaleda and 48 others are shown fugitives in the case as they did not secure bail from any court.
The blast that took place in Jagmahanpur area in Chouddagram upazila of Comilla killed eight people and injured 20 others.
A case was filed in this regard on February 3, 2015 with Chouddagram Police Station by Sub-Inspector Nuruzzaman against Khaleda Zia and 76 others.
Earlier detectives pressed charges against Khaleda and 68 others for their alleged involvement in hurling petrol bomb on a bus in Dhaka-Ctg highway Choddogram upazila JagMagahnpur in February 2015.
But three of them including MK Anwar died earlier while the investigation officer dropped names of five others from the charge sheet.
