Coast Guard seizes 240kg of venison

The Coast Guard recovered 240kg of venison from an abandoned boat in Sharankhola upazila yesterday.

The force conducted the anti-poaching drive in the Baleswar river of the Sundarbans, and seized the deer meat and the boat, said Lt Abdullah AL Mahmud of Coast Guard's West Zone. The meat was meant for sale in the local market, he added.

The meat and the boat were handed over to the Supati forest office for taking necessary legal actions.
