CMCH staff held for selling fake certificate
The officials of Anti-Corruption Commission in Chittagong yesterday arrested an employee of Chittagong Medical College Hospital while selling a fake injury certificate.
Milon Kanti Barua, an upper-division assistant at CMCH, was caught red-handed at a restaurant next to the hospital, said Lutfor Kabir, deputy director of ACC (Chittagong region).
On information, the ACC team conducted a drive at the restaurant just opposite to the hospital's east gate and made the arrest.
“Milon was handing over a fake injury certificate to a person. An injury certificate from the hospital is usually used for suing someone,” the deputy director said. “We also seized Tk 15,000, the money he charged for the official document, from his possession.”
Sensing their presence, the person who was supposed to receive the certificate fled the scene, he added. Filing of a case is underway with Panchlaish Police Station.
