Case filed for trying to 'poison' public prosecutor's daughter
A case has been filed in connection with the attempt to poison daughter of Advocate Wazed Ali Khokon, the public prosecutor in Narayanganj seven-murder case.
Selina Wazed Minu, Wazed's wife, filed the case with Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station yesterday. Four unidentified persons were accused in the case for attempting to poison Maisha Wazed Prapti on her way home from a coaching centre on Bangabandhu Road in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahin Parvez said a case has been filed. They are trying to identify the accused persons and arrest them, he said.
Prapti's father Wazed Ali Khokon represented the state in the sensational seven-murder case, in which the High Court on Tuesday upheld death sentences of 15, including former Rab officer Tarek Sayeed and former Narayanganj councillor Nur Hossain.
Yesterday afternoon, Wazed, his wife and daughter met journalists at their home, where the PP said the verdicts, handed down by the lower and high court, satisfied everyone.
However, any third party might have been aggrieved by the verdict, he added.
To take revenge, someone might have attempted to poison his daughter, said the PP, adding, "We are worried."
